Reviewed, not endorsed.
Field protocol, germplasm selection and the analytical method are reviewed with
the Aromatic Iris Research Group at Xi’an Botanical Garden (Shaanxi Institute of Botany).
Three areas
Germplasm screening
The group’s germplasm trials underpin the selection of the strain we plant, and guard
against ornamental or non-aromatic Iris being substituted in the supply chain.
Method review
Irone is determined by capillary GC following the chromatographic conditions of
ISO 18054:2004, applied to an ethanol extract of dried rhizome. The standard itself is
written for orris oil, not for the sliced root we ship, so we state the adaptation rather
than cite the number and let you assume the rest.
Cultivar and IP background
The group holds provincial elite cultivar registrations and a national invention patent
application on iris phenology and metabolic regulation. These belong to the group, not to
this base, and are listed here as context rather than as a claim on our product.
This tells a buyer exactly how far
our technical claim reaches, and where their own QC has to take over.
What we do not claim
We do not claim organic certification, GACP certification, an exclusive partnership, or a
validated irone figure before a laboratory has produced one. Where we have a document, we show
it. Where we do not, we say so.
