Five mu on the eastern edge
of the loess plateau
Yaozhou District, Tongchuan, Shaanxi. 800–1,000 m elevation. Semi-arid,
550–650 mm annual rainfall, deep loess with free drainage and a pH of {{ }}.
The ground
The block was deep-tilled to 30 cm and ridged in
August 2026. Mother rhizomes came from premier aromatic fields in Zhejiang, selected for irone
potential and for freedom from soft-rot history.
We are deliberately starting small.
Five mu is enough to prove a protocol and produce a first analytical dataset. It is not enough
to supply a fragrance house on its own, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise.
Expansion to {{ }} mu is planned once the first crop is analysed.
